Ok, so I have a 7th gen iPod Nano and as of today, it won't power up and Windows also does not recognize the device. When I connect it, i get the following error message: "one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." I'm very certain that the battery is not dead. My system is Windows 7 Home Premium and iTunes is up to date. Is something wrong with my computer or does the issue lie with my iPod? It was working fine the other day. Thanks in advance, everyone.

Did it get wet? and did you turn it off, remove the battery, and leave it off for atleast 24 hours afterwards? if not and it did get wet, then water may have infiltrated the circuits and shorted it out, you may want to get it checked out and see if it can be repaired.

Also, sticking it in dry uncooked rice helps dry it out faster and more thoroughly

I'm pretty sure it didn't get wet. I'm pretty sure it's been dry the whole time.
Edit: Michael, I can't take the battery out. The casing of the iPod Nano 7th gen has no screws or anything of that nature.
