So I have two very good guy friends, who have been my best friends since I can remember. When I was very young, we were all three really good friends with three girls. Once I hit 6th grade, though, I started to get a little depressed and tried to change who I was to impress people. Long story short it was around this time that I started to grow apart from the girls, but my guy friends did not. At one point in middle school I almost lost my friendship with the two guys, which did not help my depression, but we got it sorted out. Now a freshman in high school I hung out with two of the three girls and the two guys and remembered how cool they were in general, as well as how cool they were to me. But I noticed things that the two guy friends could do around them that would just be awkward if I did. I know I'm probably over analyzing the situation a bit but I feel like I lost and can never get back the girls as friends since we weren't exactly friends for about 3 years. Any suggestions as to how I might regain this friendship?

Try hanging out with them more frequently, and explain to them how you feel.

Try to act like nothing's wrong, basically, and show them that you're happy to be at their side, and that you're happy to be their friends. Keep in touch with them, hang out more frequently, and with time the whole situation will normalise.

just be yourself and find out what they like and try not to annoy them and try to hang out more with them
