Yes it could cause damage if you rub too hard so yes do be careful.

Yes lotion or any lube is good for you. It doesn't have to be used at all times but if you feel that is needed then masturbate with lube.

Well I do not use lube most of the and its always been fine for me,

its easier to use lube because theres not as much friction which can prevent damage.

I do it dry, and as a matter of fact, using LUBE was actually MORE damaging! Honestly hand lotions actually make your skin more dry and prone to "breaking" at the surface due to friction. So basically both can have potential to cause damage. Honestly it shouldn't be a problem either way unless you spend a ridiculous amount of time masturbating!

Some people can't masturbate without lube because the fristion causes burns, however other people can do it. You only need to use lube ifyour feeling any burning sensations.
