People should be allowed to do whatever they want, so long as it doesn't directly violate the rights of others.

K, your turn.

The ideas of ignorance, bigotry, and oppression should not have a position in power.

Differing views are a beautiful thing as long as they respect each other and don't stagnate progress.

Forgive me, is it just ignorance/bigotry towards gays, or if red heads or blacks or even christians were being discriminated against, would you also back them?

This is really tough, because politics is such a broad range of issues. But here's my shot at it:

Do what has proven to work.

Science, peace, and acceptance is the only option.

Differing views are a beautiful thing as long as they respect each other and don't stagnate progress.

These aren't political opinions; they are opinions on how people should conduct themselves in a debate setting. They tell nothing about your opinions on taxes, foriegn policy, gay marriage or the rest of it.

Sorry I saw how other people had posted and I got a little confused. I am a conservative that isn't terrified of reasonable compromise. Sorry about my first irrelevant post.

No, I thought it easily shows. But if I must explain...
Science: I believe that we should invest heavily into the scientific parts of our world, i.e, rebooting our space programs, investing in Cold Fusion, and stem cell research. I also believe we should stop contaminating our thought process with things such as religion, an example would be what I've previously stated, stem cell research.
Peace: I believe that the United States should promote peace globally, without having to use our military to solve everyone else's problems. I've no problem in fighting a battle that is for a just cause. But when we rush into battlefields, such as Iraq, without even being sure on why we're attacking, I absolutely despise that.
Acceptance: I believe that every human being should be accepted by everyone, regardless of their ethnicity, sexuality, sex, etc. A great example would be the LGBT movement. I fully support it, and I see absolutely no reason that it should not be allowed.

All should be united in equality and labor and do whatever job they like. There should be no discrimination based on anything and people should prefer scientific facts and reason over religious dogma.

All should be united in equality and labor

Except whoever is in charge because that's how communism works. A group of elitists sits on a golden throne while everyone else works to feed their greed.

and do whatever job they like.

Funny, that's not normally how it works. Typically your job will be chosen for you according to your skills and the current need for a specific job. Don't worry though, it's all for the good of your fellow comrades.

There should be no discrimination based on anything

Unless your political ideology is not parallel with whoever is in charge. You'll likely be killed on the spot or sent to a re-education camp.

and people should prefer scientific facts and reason over religious dogma.

Maybe people should, but it's their right to believe what they'd like.

That's how state capitalim works, not communism. there is no one in charge, everyone is equal and represents himself in the commune. Did you even read a bit of Marx?

Yes I've read a /bit/ of Marx (communist manifesto). The issue is that you support a system that is impossible to implement.

It is possible, not out of the blue, but in time it will become possible.

Yes I've read a /bit/ of Marx (communist manifesto).I'd suggest reading Das Kapital instead. The Communist Manifesto is really only a basic introduction into communist thought - and a poor one at that.

On Topic: Left Libertarian; I couldn't think of an effective slogan.

>state capitalism sends people to re-education camps

Yeah, don't even bother trying to refute anything in the post, buddy. Yes, because capitalism is such an oppressive system. I'm only earning 300 dollars a month and living comfortably while being able to meet all my obligations at the same time. Please help me, I'm being oppressed because I'm actually EARNING the money I worked for!

Also, you can't say that everyone works for one general cause but, at the same time, can do whatever they want. That directly contradicts itself. And everyone would "prefer" scientific fact over religious dogma? Now you're bordering on pure dictatorship when you word it that way. "You WILL believe this, you WILL NOT believe this." That's not how things work. People are too smart to realize that Communism wouldn't work, be it just out of the blue or gradually introduced into the system.
