Okay, so I read somewhere that ADHD meds are some kind of low dosage form of amphetamines... is this true, seriously? I'm on Vyvanse, and I think it does a good job of keeping me in line (was on Concerta from the time I was 6 to 10, didn't work at all, Vyvanse has been loads better in comparison, provided I remember to take it).

Yeah, so...?
You're using the drug medically, prescribed by a doctor, so it's no problem, right?
All medications are types of drugs, which when used by the wrong people or in the wrong doses can be bad.

Vyvanse is d-amphetamine (http://healthlifeandstuff.com/2010/05/a-year-of-vyvanse-what-ive-learned/)
I think the only real danger involved is in abusing it (taking more then prescribed)
