I have mixed emotions about By The Way. It has very good elements to it but I'm not a huge fan of the chuggy bass section with Anthony's rapping over it. I love the intro with John's subtle riffs and Anthony's singing. I like Anthony's rapping I just don't really like it in this song. By The Way as an album is a great album though.

I don't understand why some people hate on RHCP... I like them quite a lot.

However I don't like their sin of recording loudness. Other than that they have a lot of good songs and have evolved musically over the years and on the best side I can still listen to their new stuff and appreciate it :P
