poetry?

So I used to dabble in writing poetry and now that I need a poem for ELA I am blanking out. Does anyone have advice on how to improve this?

Sleep silently with blood lust eyes
Open them to terrors cries
Peace, you wont find, not deep inside
the time is near theyre coming

wake dreadfully to demons cries
terror near, pain wont subside
dig deeper, theres no place to hide
speak silently, theyre listening

bow your head down to repent
see the truth with clear intent
run further without moving
theyre closing in theyre coming

up ahead no place to run
back to dead end empty gun
no place to hide no where to go
the time is here theyre coming

bow your head so low to cry
you lost the fight you lost your pride
no time to say a last good
weep silently its over
