Wait, so you want to fight stereotyping, right?
In your question you are literally asking people to stereotype. It's very counterproductive.
It would be best to simply prove yourself as better then your male counterparts. Action is better then complaining. If you can't, then maybe you are truly inferior and maybe your peers and instructors have a right to be critical.

I worked with a girl apprentice heavy duty mechanic for awhile, she was just as good as anyone else. As long as you are able to do the work, I don't care if you're male or female, makes no difference to me.

I'd trust a female mechanic as much as a male mechanic. My mom went through the same thing actually. She was an accountant when almost all accountants were guys. They shunned her, but she proved she was better at their job then they were. Now she's a really successful CPA.

I trust female mechanics just as male mechanics. My mother took mechanics in high school and aced it.She did better than most males did in the class.Women usually have smaller hands and longer fingers than men do.This is an advantage because they can reach the small nicks and crannies than most men can.
