I've always been interested in a job in music. Where it be a singer, a producer or even a manager.
I actually have an okay singing voice, however I wonder how do I progress onto making it big?
My family simply don't believe I could do it, yet my dreams are set and I'm really inspired by some of my favourite musicians.
Thoughts?

If you play any instruments, you could consider giving lessons. Being an instructor does not typically require a bold singing voice, and pays pretty well

From what I've experienced - many, many people try to make it big.
It shouldn't be your main objective.
A lot of people are trying to make it big, and, to be honest, only about one in a million do. Check out soundcloud, youtube, just about anything. The internet lets anyone self-publish, and it hardly takes much talent at all these days to "get your name out there"..
If it's your passion, you'll probably naturally have the drive for it. I never went for a mainstream career after high school, because I didn't feel the fit for it. Our education systems and people around us try to form us into what society wants, and it's a very tight and conservative mindset.
My family were skeptical too when I chose my course in college. They probably don't know how focused you are, otherwise they probably don't have the greatest idea about the viability of you having a career in it, or the industry as a whole.
Dream big, do some research. It's your life after all and no one else's
