My uncle has 2 1970 Chevy Chevelles he is going to give me for my 16th birthday, but theres one problem... neither of them have the engine, tranny, axles, or tires and only one of them has the interior. One is a 350 mailbu and the other is a 454 SS. Of course the one I want to restore is the 454, but the Malibu has the interior. I know they are fairly common cars, so what im wondering is, how hard will it be to find every part and make it look like it just rolled off the lot?

Money isn't a big concern. I come from a wealthy family. Where can I find the parts though? I'm finding all the cosmetic stuff in car graveyards, but the engine is always missing. The closest I've found with an engine is a 1970 Chevy nova. Not even gonna tear it out if its not what I want.

I can tell you from experience that engines and transmissions are a bad idea to buy from junkyards without a warranty. Get a crate engine online. You will be glad you did.

If money isn't a problem, then have some fun with the car. Take the SS and do a resto-mod. Forget the factory 454, go out and get yourself a GM LSA motor. It's supercharged and like 560hp out of the box. Get a matching transmission too. Then some sport seats and have somebody do the rest of the interior in a factory style then. Simple. Clean. Fast.
