I can't contribute much, all the italian restaurants I've been to and really enjoyed have been individual businesses, which in my opinion are the best kind!!

If you need to find an italian restaurant in your area, you could just look it up online and read reviews/ratings, and then go from there. Usually, the best restaurant dining experiences are had in restaurants that aren't chains, in my opinion.

Plenty of NY corner pizzarias around here and they are all pretty good... Around me for the.fancy places we have Forninos, Pastys, and another place too... cant remember the name atm.

There isn't that many close to me but there's a nice one about an hour away that I've been to a few times. I love eating there because in most restaurants the vegetarian option is ALWAYS veggie lasagne and in Italian restaurants you can be sure it's good lasagne. Tomorrow I'm going to this tiny Italian cafe in my town for the first time. Hopefully it's just as nice.

my favorite Italian chain would be Maggiano's. It's so yummy but rarely get to go to one since there aren't any around me. I only get to one when on vacation.

Can't think of a great chain in Toronto. My boyfriend's mom is Italian and she can cook, so I'm lucky :) Love her spaghetti with clams

I love Italian restaurants, mostly because my favorite meals are probably pasta and pizza :P. I have a quite a few Italian restaurants near me, but to be honest I don't like Olive Garden...

If you're in Canada around Montreal there's a great place called La Popessa which is mainly pasta, or in the U.S. there's Romano's Macaroni Grill, or Romio's.

In certain states there's a pizza place called Grimaldi's, some of the best pizza I've ever had.
