Ever had a crush on a same-sex friend?

I'm just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation, when you've got a crush on a friend who's the same gender as you and straight. How did you deal with it? Did you say anything?

Ah yes, it has happened to me once or twice. It's pretty tough for quite a while, but after a while my attraction seemed to fade. The only way I got myself to like them less was to hang out with them a little less, which sucks, but it made my life less stressful.

Edit: I would like to point out once the crush was gone I could hang out with them more and it didn't seem to come back (yet at least).

A crush can actually be alright to a certain extend, for me since I was still in the closet I felt that if I fancied a guy I could be a lot more subtle about and we could actually talk more so and stuff, and well it's easier to casually flirt.

However it absolutely 100% sucks if you fall in love with someone who is straight, that's comfortably one of the most depressing things I've had to deal with

I had a crush on a really close friend, although "crush" is putting it very lightly. I tried dealing with it for over a year until I finally snapped and had to tell her. Long story short, she didn't reciprocate, even though she's not straight, but I had been assuming she wouldn't. Things went back to normal right after because she was cool with it, but to be honest I still feel the same, just a little more hopeless now because I'm positive nothing will come of it.

It's happened to me. I was going to ask him out on valentines day. But the girl he liked asked him out before I had a chance. I told him I liked him and he doesn't talk to me anymore

I actually have a same-sex partner right now! I've had them in the past, on opposite sexes though. I just seem to be more attracted to one gender to the other!

Tbh it's complete hell! I only see him once a day and at that when he doesn't come to class/school(this whole week too) it's like I don't even feel right. He's really cute and nice and I just want to tell him I like him but it's not gonna happen. I'll rather just go thru this pain :p

Yes for a few months but I never said anything about it. I just tried to look on the positive side, the other person was a good friend and at least I had that friendship.
