Some you you may have heard of a 'supermoon' or perigee moon, where the full moon occurs within hours of the moon's closest passage to earth, making the moon up to 14% larger and 30%% brighter than an apogee moon from Earth. And the apogee moon is what we are experiencing now, in about 12 hours. This is the smallest full moon in 2013; all other full moons appear slightly bigger. But our eyes don't detect small size differences across large time spaces, so it is very hard to notice.
So have a look outside tonight (if the clouds permit it...) and have a glance at the smallest and last full moon of 2013.
Thought you would like to know :D.
