This year I joined the Debate team- for a variety of reasons, none of them were girls.
Anyway theres a girl on the the team who's a senior but shes only like 5 months older than me (I'm a Junior) and she sortof took me under her wing a little bit, she was friends with my older brother who graduated last year. (She is very good looking and very nice, by anyone's standards. I have been told that I am "cute", but I could definetly stand to lose 20-30 pounds and start lifting wieghts.)
As the year went on I got to know her a little better because we got to talk at practice and tournaments. A lot of people say I am a funny guy and she thinks that too.
Just this last thursday I decided to ask her to the valentines dance our school was having last friday, except I did it via myspace. She told me that her dad might not let her go (her family has a lot of rules and they are very devout protestants). She then sent me another message saying that she coudnt go to the dance, but she told me that if I didnt have anything to do that night that I should call her so we could hang out.
Now up until this point the whole conversation was via myspace. So I sent her a message back saying I probably wouldnt have anything to do so we should go to a movie or get ice cream or something. No response.
Then the next day during lunch I sent her a text message to the same effect. I was scared as hell to actually call her. Again no response.
I called my older brother who I can tell anything to and asked him about it. He told me that she probably wanted me to call her, thats why she's not responding to my messages.
So Friday evening around 6pm I called her and left a message saying we should go see a movie or get ice cream or something.
She called back about 15 minutes later saying she would love to go, so we decided on ice cream. She was hanging out with one of her best friends, so she said we should meet at 9. She asked if we should meet at her house or mine, so of course I said that I would pick her up.
At 9 I went to her house and picked her up ,and we drove to Cold Stone for ice cream. She tried to pay but I didnt let her. She only ate about half of hers, we talked for about 40 minutes, then I drove her home (10-15 minutes each way).
Ever since I really havnt been able to think about anything else. I have no idea whether she likes me or not, though my older brother says if she didnt want to go she would have said no. Still I wonder if she likes me as more than a friend.
I am wondering what to do next. The debate team is going on an away tournament next weekend, thursday-saturday, and we are both going. Friday is valentines day. Plus every wednesday night she goes to a youth group that I have been to a few times because my friend also goes to it, I could go with him again. Idk what to do.
