Hello everyone. Let's discuss the pros and cons of owning the mighty Wii U, perhaps the best console of our generation(In my opinion). In the console war between the Xbox One and PS4, the Wii U is often overlooked. Well, the Wii U has been out for a year longer than those other consoles, and therefore it is automatically better(In my opinion). The Wii U has more games, better games(In my opinion), and isn't playing games the whole reason to buy a console in the first place? Many people don't like the Wii U because it's not for "hardcore" gamers like themselves, even though they probably couldn't even finish one of the newer Mario games, including picking up all the coins and stuff. The Wii U is for the whole family! Yay! Don't you want something you can play with the whole family? Plus it's 300 dollars, and it comes with a game! What a great deal! You should buy the Wii U!

So what's your opinion on the Wii U, if you have one at all? Also, does anyone here have the Wii U? Besides me, of course.

I want a Wii U, but I am still waiting for them to get a certain quantity of games produced a year to actually be convinced to buy one, cause there aren't that many choices as of right now, and the glorious PC gaming master race is good enough for now.

First of all being around a year longer doesn't make it better (I know it's just your opinion but it doesn'tmake any sense to me, neither does the argument that having more games makes it better)
Secondly I don't want to play games with the whole family, especially not shallow happy--go-lucky fun4everyone games.
Blwergh.

I don't even like shooter or gore games. And sure there are lots of good games on Wii U but most games that I like just don't fit their style.
I prefer quality of the game over who you can play it with.

I've never played any Nintendo consoles, but I can see where everybody's coming from. It is true that the Wii is a dated console, especially with the new generation coming out, but that doesn't make it any less entertaining. After all, quality doesn't just mean something that's new. Quality is something that can stand the test of time, and with Nintendo's history in gaming, that's certainly something they're good at.

While the Wii U has been overlooked for a year, and while I believe that Nintendo and their partners put out quality games, there's really been no reason to buy it yet. It's almost like how the 3DS went in the beginning. There were no decent launch titles.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Wii U to death, but it's games have done nothing but disappoint me up until now. New Super Mario Bros. U offered NOTHING new at all, and most new games are third party games which don't interest me, or comebacks from older games. (Pikmin and Wind Waker)

I'm glad that they are getting their shit together now, with Super Mario 3D World (fucking glorious) and newer, brilliant games right around the corner. The Wii U is great, it just won't show it until 2014 at the earliest.

The simple problem with the WII U is that it's not appealing to buy. I'll bullet point my reasons:

Games aren't coming out at a good pace, sure you've got games coming out but they aren't really exclusives and they aren't really promoting the features that the WII U has.

Lost third developer support--> Nintendo are known for making small third party developers games a chance, shortly after the launch of the WII U they lost their support over a number of disputes which has hurt the WII U overall.

Youtube --> Yes youtube! Nintendo have disallowed youtubers to make money off of their games which has lessened the advertising rates of the WII U and makes less people promote the games and content etc.

WII U games are for a rather younger market meaning that unless you like fantasy and adventure or party family games then the WII U won't appeal to everyone. It's not universal...

These are only some of the reasons I've posted but I could go on.

I actually agree

Not universal? What wrong with RPG, Fantasy, Platforming games? When 360 came out I remember it had a campaign showing gamers that it was Geared to FPS fans. That wasent very universal but it still did well (minus the Red Ring Of Death preventing me from buying ANY console Microsoft puts out)

It isn't, the majority of games that come out for Wii U are fantasy/RPG, that's a much more small market. Whereas the Xbox, Playstation etc are much more universal offering a variety of all games.
