Is it normal for my erection to point directly to the sky and be up against my body?

yeah man it's totally normal. some stick full outward, some stick upward, it's a fact of life.

Yes, pretty much the whole 90 degree arc from pointing horizontally forwards to pointing upwards is common. A slight droop is also normal but less common.
