That is something I have no clue about, but you can be circumcised when you are considered an adult. So I would wait til

Just sit down with your parents and tell them that you HAVE DECIDED that you want to be circumcised. That after have read all the positive and negative arguments about that, you consider that the positive effects are strongest and that you want that for you.
Btw I'm cut.

Like the others, start with asking your dad. If it is something you're thinking about then you are going to have to have that conversation. If you feel more comfortable, ask if your mum can "keep her distance". Get your dad to make an appointment with the doc (another meeting, though the doc will probably do it from an entirely clinical point of view - your dad may be a bit more personally involved). You can change your mind at any point up until you get it cut.

The first thing I would do would be to think about it REALLY well.... do you really want to give up all the pleasureable feelings that ur foreskin gives you? Do you really want to lose some of the sensitivity on ur glans? If yes ( and i'm not judging) then I would probably wait untill I was 18, because explaining to your parents why you want it done could be a bit of an ordeal. My 15 year old cousin was 13 when he had to be circumcised and he says he deperately wishes he could go back to the way it was. But if you are really, really dying to get it done, then just go to them and explain it as honestly as possibe and hope that they will see it from your side. Hope i could help :)

Don't get it done. There's much more pleasure in your penis when you're uncut.

How do I tell my parents that I want to get circumcised. I just don't like the look of foreskin.
My parents did not have me cut when I was born because I was premature. However once I was old enough to see that I looked different from all my friends, I wanted to be circumcised like them. My problem was that I could not get up the courage to ask my parents. I worried about it a long time until finally on night at dinner I guess I wasn't acting right and one of my parents asked if I was alright. I took a chance and came out with "I want to be circumcised". I parents knew I was upset but they understood. That is when they explained why I wasn't cut when I was born. The next day they made an appointment with the doctor and it was done within 2 weeks. I am very with the results and if I had know it would have been that easy, I would have asked them earlier. I suggest not waiting. I thought about writing a note or send a text saying I had something I wanted to talk about. For me, once they knew how much I wanted it done, I think they were sorry they had not had it done earlier. Good luck and I encourage you to not wait.

By "autocircumcision" do you mean keeping your foreskin permanently retracted so
it looks like you are cut? Or do you mean actually cutting off your own foreskin?

I agree. I'm cut & love it. There are cleanliness reasons for getting cut, all my uncut friends tell me personally they have to wash their foreskins several times/day or it smells bad. I did some research and found that the only way to get the best answer about what's best: being cut or uncut; was to ask a guy who was uncut and got cut in his mid-late teens or an adult who got cut. They did a study, and every guy who chose to get cut after experiencing jacking and sex while uncut, after they got cut and healed and were able to jack and have sex loved being cut more than being uncut. Their dick looks so much better, they don't have to clean the foreskin. (I'm 16/gay; in Amsterdam I met a hot blond boy and we had sex and he hadn't washed himself the the smell was awful! I asked him to take a shower with me and I washed him well all over, and everything was great after that!)
The guys said when you're uncut it takes less time to jack and you don't need lube. When you're cut it may take a little longer to cum but the climax is much more intense. There are threads here where guys tell how fast they can cum and cuts can cum very fast when they want to.
NOTE: I'm cut loose, meaning I have extra skin on my shaft, and can jack slowly and pull the skin up high enough to cover half my glans. Most cut guys can't do that. I can jack dry just fine, or with lube. There are guys who were cut tight, and you don't want that. They have no extra skin and usually have to use lube and because their skin is so tight, it sometimes hurts. Be sure your doctor understands the difference and that you want a loose cut.
Don't get it done. There's much more pleasure in your penis when you're uncut.
I disagree. Uncuts can jack to climax quicker, generally, than cuts; but the orgasm for a cut guy is more intense. I found that in some scientific web research.
How do I tell my parents that I want to get circumcised. I just don't like the look of foreskin.
There's the aesthetics and the hygeinetics. Research them. Read all you can find about the pros and cons of being either way. Try to be as objective as you can.

Lets see the scientific website, i want you to tell us your source for you information. Because your last three posts are so full of false information that it makes me unhappy looking at them.
There are NO health benefits to being circumcised, and NO health benefits of being uncircumcised, only time there is a health benefit to circumcision is when you have foreskin that is too tight.
If your friends have to wash there foreskin multiple times a day to avoid a smell occurring then they are doing a few things wrong.
-they should shower and clean everywhere in the morning
-after their shower they should dry everywhere, including under their foreskin
-when they pee they should retract their foreskin a little so that no urine is left
-the list could continue
All of the above mentioned points are things i have seamlessly integrated into my daily routine, its not a hassle or problem, i have no smell coming from my foreskin.
As for pleasure, that is something i will not argue because I cannot, i am a uncircumcised man with a bias. The fact of the matter is that when sensitive nerves are exposed to constant irritation they get worn down (a penis head without foreskin against underwear for example), make your own conclusions from their, I have no doubt in my mind that uncircumcised men enjoy sex just as much as circumcised men, and vice versa.
As for aesthetics, if you don't like something about your body because your friends are different, thats your own insecurities, im not going to touch on this point any further.
To conclude i do not fight for either side here, i just hate seeing the distribution of misinformation resulting in people asking to get a surgical operation performed. If you are going to mention a study, please quote that study.

When I'm wrong, I'm not afraid to admit it. I should have provided a link to the source I mentioned. Unfortunately, I found that article over a year ago and after looking for a half-hour I couldn't find the same article. The closest article I was able to find can be found here: http://www.circinfo.net/men_circumcised_as_adults_tell_it_as_it_is.html
It is titled: "Male Circumcision Guide for Doctors, Parents, Adults & Teens". The article is a long one, and quite thorough; along the left margin are forty-three links to other related articles for additional reading.
A number of men and teen males are described and their cases discussed. As I mentioned, these males were circumcised at various ages and they give their own account of their reasons for wanting circumcision. They all were very pleased with the outcome they achieved. Two, I believe, had to have a subsequent surgery to correct an error made on the part of the first surgeon, but the problem was remedied and they said they were quite happy.
There are also comments & beliefs put forth by the wives/partners of a few of these men, and those were quite helpful as well.
The American Academy of Paediatrics (AAP) Committee for the Newborn, in 2012, following an extensive review of all the medical evidence released a new policy recommending infant circumcision. See the home page of this website for this policy.
During the period 1985-92 the association of lack of circumcision and urinary tract infection (UTI) has moved from "suggestive" to "conclusive" [Schoen, 1993]. Moreover, this period heralded the finding of associations with other infectious agents, including HIV. In fact he goes on to say that "Current newborn circumcision may be considered a preventative health measure analogous to immunization in that side effects and complications are immediate and usually minor, but benefits accrue for a lifetime" [Schoen, 1993].
Numerous health issues are addressed, all being avoided by circumcision. Johns Hopkins University and the National Institutes for Health (NIH) highlighted the long-standing benefits and provided an update on newer data concerning STIs [Tobian et al., 2010]. The article argued the case for neonatal circumcision and concluded that "with mounting evidence that male circumcision decreases viral STIs, genital ulcer disease, and penile inflammatory disorders in men, and bacterial vaginosis, T. vaginalis infection, and genital ulcer disease in their female partners, it is time for the AAP policy to fully reflect these current data". This was supported by an editorial commentary in the same issue [Brady, 2010]. The journal also published a brochure for parents that listed health benefits and stated that risks of the procedure were minor [Moreno et al., 2010].
Further mentioned are the correlations of uncircumcised sexually active males and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including HIV infection.
I have only touched on a very few of the many reasons circumcision is recommended by the medical community. Please take the time, if interested, to read this important and very thorough series of articles.
Again, the link to this article is: http://www.circinfo.net/position_statements_by_national_pediatric_bodies.html
The homepage for this site is simply: http://www.circinfo.net/

It should be nothing to be embarrassed about. It is a personal choice after all. I would just sit down with one of your parents and tell them that you would like to be circumcised.

You don't need to be circumcised unless you are in complete pain because we were all born uncircumcised for a reason! If you are insecure about it, it's really not that big of a deal

Woah bro, I HIGHLY doubt your parents would let you be circumcised for the heck of it. It's a unessary surgery unless you need it (not because it looks bad). Doctors have better things to do.

If your parents dont know that you know about having forskin, just say to your dad
"I have to ask you a question..."
"Why is there extra skin on my penis?"
" I dont like it, I want it removed"

Besides all the "cut vs uncut" BS...
Do you really want to go through this surgery? It's probably the "minor surgery" (everything is relative, it can be considered major) with the most painful post-op. Unless you don't have any sensitivity in your glands at all, it's going to hurt as hell. It's also going to bleed when you have an erection before it heals.
I'm uncut and I'm praying for never having to be circumcised. I followed a blog about a guy who got circumcised and talked about his recovery, believe me it just hurt to read it. I'd share it with you but I don't remember how was it called and it was written in Spanish.
But if you still want to, just tell them (I'd ask your dad first).

If I were you I would wait, you might change your mind when you are an adult and then regret it and anyway girls might find it more attractive for you to have a foreskin and they might hate a circumcised penis so wait until you have grown up a little bit and as you get older your body changes anyway, when I was younger my foreskin was massive and now it's barely there when I'm un-erect and even less visible when I am erect.
