The first time I had enough alcohol to get drunk, it was my birthday party turning 14. I have had some before that, but that was under supervision and I never had much. Only one of my buddies I had over actually drank too, and everyone else said even though I had a lot more to drink, we were about the same amount off the "walk a straight line" test, but that's about right because I'm like 1 1/2 his weight. He never drank before though, so that might have something to do with that. So, if you cant walk a straight line, your pretty shit-faced-drunk. I mean we had tequila, moonshine, wine, rum, whiskey, and a lot of them. He wound up sleeping on a couch and I slept on the concrete floor. When we woke up, he was puking in the toilet, crying from a headache, the whole nine yards. And I felt like any other day. That's the part I don't understand. I know if you haven't hit puberty, your brain isn't developed enough to have the effects of alcohol, but that cant be it either, because I had a little bit of alcohol like a week later and got a small hangover, like just enough to have my hands shaking like crazy. Since then, I've gotten really drunk and getting a hangover, and sometimes I don't. Could this lead to addiction, even though I just get drunk to have fun? And under What circumstances do you get hangovers?

It depends on several things like your tolerance for alcohol. Some people can get wasted and puke from 1 beer, some people can drink 2 12 packs and sober up a few hours later. Another thing is your behavior reaction to alcohol. Some people get angry, some people get so stupid it's funny, some people start acting weird and saying things that don't make any sense, the list goes on. You may have drank so much that you were too hungover/drunk to remember it. It could lead to addiction regardless the reason for drinking. As a teen, you are going to drink at some point. Don't be afraid to go to a party because there is alcohol, but don't go to one every other night and get hammered. Its okay to drink if you don't be stupid about it. If your drunk, crash at a friends place or get someone you trust enough to drive you home sober.

Don't be the only sober person at every party killing the fun, but don't be the drunk idiot passed out in his underwear on the front lawn.Another thing to remember is its not always a bad thing to stay sober. The other people are going to do stupid things, and you'll be the one holding the camera phone.

I personally have never gotten a hangover, regardless of how much i drink... I usually drink 2x as much as my friends (~6 shots and 8 drinks of vodka/rum) and all it does for me is make me more social and less afraid to talk about my emotions and stuff. (Im 18). Ive seen people puke and pass out from 2 drinks. Sometimes its just the way you percieve it too, as in how you choose to let it effect you. Same thing applies with weed. If you feel like you are starting to get a bad trip or feeling negative thoughts, the alcohol/weed will amplify them. Best thing is to just stay positive and enjoy it. If it gets to the point where you feel like you're nothing without alcohol, then yes you can get addicted.

I've only drank enough alcohol to get hungover once, and it did not go so well for me. Like you, I tried a lot of different types of drinks, but mainly I just took Jäger shots. However, I think what really did it was that I drank a half bottle of Tequila straight from the bottle. It gotten so bad, I couldn't even taste the alcohol anymore. I woke up the next morning, finding out I'd puked all over the couch, passed out, and my friends ended up putting me down in their guest room. I puked twice that day, along with a pounding headache. But by about 2 or 3 that day, I felt pretty normal.

You get hangovers because of lots of alcohol and not enough food or water

If you don't want a hangover, have a snack and a pint or two of water before bed
