I feel that If you work in entertanment, apart from normal taxes, you should not be allowed to make over 1million dollors a year. All of the extra money should go to the government.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no. You misunderstand. Their would be no entertainment if we striped them from their money. Putting extra taxing on mony made by entertainment would not only create horrible budjet breaks into film, ruin americas most famous industry, send millions around the world jobless, and bring up unemployment rates, but it would start many riots and angry words. So no. I think you forget that with extra taxes on entertainment funds, you get less funding for movies, crappy cable, satillite, internet, football, hocky, all sports really. all video games, movies, t.v., and music would bacilly go out of busnies in america because the companies investing in that product, would make no more then a mill off its sales. all the little things that make life sweeter, like art, computers, tvs, dvd players, steareos, and ect. would have to be bought from different countries and shiped to your house because those companies would no longer sell products in america because they wouldnt make any bank. If you really think about what that would do to the economy and how crappy life would become and the lawsuites that would go around.......do you really want to live in that america. I think not.

The only way to have sports players make less than a mill, is for no one to see them. If people want to see them play, and pay to see them play, then they should make big bucks. You can just put a limit on them just because the make a lot of money. That's stupid, and its also a one way path to communism.
You pay their salary. If you don't want them to make as much, don't go and see the games. But I'm sure not to many people would be happy if you go to a parking lot and start preaching this.

Ryan is one of my moms frends kids. He has diabeties and was on his way to a doctors office for a cheak up. His normal doctors office was closed, no doctor. So his mom called my dad, who works at a hospital, and he told her of the next close office, and the next, and the next. FINNALY she found one. What if something had been seriusly wrong with Ryan and they wasted all that time trying to find a doctor. Why were there no doctors, The DOCTORS are being over taxed. If the state had more mony to pay doctors more with NO Doctors office would be closed becouse one doctor couldn't show up.

Ya, duh the government needs more money, but they are the ones that should keep track of it and not spend it on stupid programs like NASA. They frequently lose money all the time. That should not be our fault.

They do get income taxed. Those players earn their money. If they are good at what they do, they get paid more.

I want to clarify that DR's work there asses off and get DAYS off so they can RELAX. not becase their lazy. Remember, they went through at least seven years of college to be what they are. And thats very patient.

Not in some states there not. They do get paid alot but anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 of what they make the used to pay for there practice.

Sports stars are NOT being overpaid. When you hear of David Beckham getting huge amounts of money, this is because the current club is willing to pay him that much.

You see, to sports teams, a player is an investment, not an employee. They purchase them to make their team win, not just to play. Think stockmarket, and you've got the idea. The more chance a player has to win a game for a team, the more that player is worth.

If, for example, the best player is 'up for sale', he(or she) will be worth much, much more than the new player who has just begun playing professionally.

which comes to my second point. Sports players are professionals. They are paid for what they do. In a business, the higher ranked an individual, the more they're paid, i.e. the CEO, who is more important to the company than its thousands of workers, will receive a much higher pay. Same in sports. The goalie who stops 2 goals is less important to the team than the player who kicks 3 goals for the team and wins the game.

Finally, the effect that would be had ON THE FANS if sports stars were paid less. The players are now expecting to be paid more, and most likely would not settle for less. "If our money goes, we go!"
