It is very likely that you are a considerably late bloomer and/or your genetics just don't say that you will have a lot of armpit hair. Judge by your dad's armpits to see if you are similar.

No, if you shave it it will not grow in more it'll just be short and potentially itchy for a while as it grows back. And hey, lack of armpit hair isn't bad at all. A lot of girls really do not like armpit hair on guys, a lot accept that guys have it but don't particularly like it, and only a few really think its especially sexy. So as far as the future goes, you're set. And your friends will have no girlfriends because they are too hairy. Haha. xP Honestly though, no one should really care. You may grow more but your best bet is to accept what you've got.

You're normal. You'll grow some more pit hair in the coming years

There's two main possibilities, firstly it could be that your ampit hairs are just growing later on in puberty, or it could be that you wont get much more all your life due to what you've inherited.

genetics play an important role, my friend. Some people become albinos through genetics, some get cystic fibrosis, you might just not get much armpit hair thanks to genes (annoying, i know).
You could compare your armpit hair with your dad, but there is only a 50% chance that you have inherited his genes (and as little as 25%), but nevertheless, you have to accept the possibility that you might just not get much as everyone else (nothing to worry about).
I myself, got pubic hair at 12 and armpit hair about 18 months later, so you could use that as a very rough and general guide. If you know you were a late bloomer (i.e. still no pubic hair after 16) then you might not get armpit hair until much later.
Its nothing to worry about, too much of the stuff gets in the way and is annoying. Personally, i think if we evolved to be pubeless, it would be SO much easier...

I am also 17 with blonde hari- i have a little bit of leg hair very black around my ankle but it gets lighter and lesser as you go up (about up to my mid calf) and im starting to get a little on my thigh. I have a bit of armpit hair (which is blonde to black). I've had pubic hair to some extent since 13. I barley have to shave, my hair is blonde and very little. Is this normal? Im starting to get worried I will never catch up to even the freshman that have more hair then I do

i started getting armpit hair about half a year after i turned 16 and i still don't have much. i have a friend who's 17, almost 18 and has absolutely no armpit hair yet. and i know tons of kids my age who have no armpit hair, so you're perfectly normal.

First of all if, your maturing normally everywhere else i wouldnt stress about it. Everyone matures at different retes and in differnt orders!!
secondly, i have never shaved my pits but i would imagine that would be itchy and irritating. Shaving hair doesnt make it grow in thicker it just makes it look a little thicker, but it would look weird if all your armpit hair is the same length!! IT WLL GROW DONT WORRY!!

Dont worry about it,i have friends around your age that have hardly any armpit hair so it's not that big of a deal to worry about,it will just grow in on its own time.

Well, you may just be a late bloomer.
It's not anything bad.
I mean hey, I'm 13 and shaving and have armpit hair, and that freaked me out. But you just have to wait; it may grow.
See how much your dad has and compare that to yours.
