so i want to spread awareness about the LGBT community and about LGBT bullying problems around my school. but the problem is that i have absolutely no idea how to do that XD does anyone have any ideas? my school already has a GSTA but not many people attend it. a lot of the people at my school don't have a clue about how often LGBT people (especially teens) tend to commit suicide. a lot don't even know what gay is.

First...great idea and really respect your courage to want to spread the word. Maybe you could unite with the GSTA or present to them some of your ideas and together all of you can get more people involved.

Is there anyone on school staff who would
be interested in helping you promote?

actually, yeah i think so. my math teacher, possibly my social studies teacher, and the afterschool club director is lesbian, she's the one that runs the gsta.

At one of the schools in my hometown they wanted to spread LGBT awareness so the kids in the GSTA got a bunch of rainbow rubber band things with LGBT LOVE and equal signs and stuff on them and gave them to the kids in the school and in their neighborhoods. It was nice, and it wasn't obnoxious or anything. Maybe you could do something similar to that with your teachers' approval?

This is a good idea. Usually bracelets, shirts, pins/buttons, and other things like that are kindly accepted by students and schools don't generally object to them. However, like Jess said, make sure you get approval from the appropriate people at school before doing anything like this.

Man, I wish my school had that...
But there are only about 5-10 LGBT in the ENTIRE school system... Plus, I live in a Catholic and Baptist run community.
But anyways, spread the word through the people you mentioned earlier, they probably will address the issue to more students.
