So I bought an i5 off of Craigslist the other day, and I don't know how to change the old apple account from the other guy to mine. Any suggestions?

I assume you mean an iPhone 5? Or a similar iDevice? Just plug it into your computer, open iTunes, select the device, and click on "Restore iPhone".
