I just bought myself a Mac Mini. It's 1.66GHz with 2gig of ram and has an 80gb harddrive and has OS X 10.5 (Leopard) installed.
I love it! It beats my old computer (Athlon 2800, 1gig ram, 200 gig harddrive, Windows XP Media Centre edition) out of the water and I really like OS X, it reminds me of Linux.
I have all of the software I need to do everything I did before (mostly photo editing and dvd burning) and with the exception of Photoshop, it was all free.
For my background, I take computer security and investigations at school. the only thing I can't do is use Packet Tracer for my CCNA program, which I could do if I installed Windows (using Boot Camp) but I haven't got around to doing that yet, I just do it on my laptop (which has Windows and SuSe 10.3 Linux).
Any other Mac users here?
What are your opinions on Macs?
I haven't had to reboot or anything since I bought it. I got this for a deal: $550 and it came with everything installed. Best Buy sells this for $850. It has an Intel processor. I just had to buy a keyboard and a card reader and I was set. (I already had a mouse and monitor). I'm as happy as I can be with it and I'm loving my Mac. Even my program co-ordinator says that Mac is becoming the way to go. We don't touch Mac's in my program though, just Windows XP and Linux (Microsoft won't let us exploit Vista yet).
