Hi bros just wondering whether sleeping late had any effect on u during puberty, like I sometimes sleep at 2/3am but I still sleep for 8hrs is that bad?

I wish I could sleep for 8 hours. sleep is good for u it lets u get through
the day being alert ive been told. lots of times I sleep and then get up
in the middle of the night and cant get back.

I sleep 7-9 hours, just depends, I don't think sleep effects puberty, but it does effect how you function during the day.

It's not insomnia is it bro? =\ Well I only get to sleep 8 hrs during the holidays only. Apart from that I only sleep 6, maybe less

well 6 hours r enough. no- insomnia I think is if u r up
for nights that u cant fall asleep. my prob is that I am
over active I can go for hours. wish I could have that
prob with sex. :lol:

Haha that means ur body clock is a bit messed up. I remember that time I slept at 1am for a long time then when I tried to sleep early again I couldn't lol. Maybe u will enjoy sex like that in the future bro (;

If you get less sleep you don't grow because sleep is when the growth hormone is released and your body needs energy for growing and doing puberty things so a lot of sleep is good

I am often up late before I can fall
asleep and often wake up too early.
And I am small, so maybe.

I always get sleepy so late (e.g. it's 3:11am here and I'm still up) and then sleep for like 4 hours. On the weekend I might sleep some more hours though.
Maybe that's why I don't grow, now I'm worried :confused:

I use to sleep also at 2-3 am !!! And weekends I could sleep like 10 hours easily.

Haha I have the exact same problem bro. I can sleep at 4am and wake up at 7am, then I'll be like a zombie for the rest of the day

Growth hormone is released during sleep, but I don't think shifting the sleep schedule by 2 hours will decrease hormone production, as it's released during REM, and you are still getting the same number of hours of sleep.

insomnia and fatigue. My brain works on overtime all the time and get pissed of easy. How can i sleep more?
btw i go to bed at about 9, usually stay up till after 2 am, and wake up 6-7. So i usually sleep 4-6 hours, with some lucky ones at 6 1/2. How do i sleep easier?

I have an awful sleep pattern. Im actually an owl in a humans body :P. I can sleep literally all day and only be up during the night hours. I don't sleep at night. I also sleep for 10-12 hrrs or more else I'm shit for the day and can't dare do anything productive. I refuse to drive when tired as well so I will skip school if I have to. I refuse to cause an accident or not be able to avoid one from fatigue. Not worth the risk to me. I just go back to bed.
I'm a 3rd shift worker by nature. And I can not change this for some reason. I try getting up at 7am and sleeping at 9. I'll be awake till 6am when the sun comes out and get one hr. I'll do this for about a week until I literally get so tired and deprived I'll Ihave to go to hospital from my medical condition that was agrivated and end up hospitalized with an uncontrollable headache and severe vomiting.
I actually have to take online classes that I can do at night now. According to my Dr I have the most stubborn sleep pattern she's ever seen. Even sleep meds won't change it. However I should grow out of it by age 25. :/ tthat's a ways off. Oh well I like night time lol like I said I'm an owl.
So no one should feel bad staying up till 4am lol. I sleep during the day XD
