I think that it's all up to instincts. When the time is right you will know, and let that guide you. There's no such thing as doing it wrong, and it's one of those things that probably will get better with practice. But, just try it out! Your body will have a way of guiding yourself, just try to clear your mind of any negative thoughts first.
