need advice

so I talked to my friend over the summer before school we talked all the time then we got into more serious conversations and we were going good but we went really fast and she wanted to "take things slowly" in which I obliged then she said maybe "down the road" so we kept talking and talking and it was great we loved it then she just randomly said "im getting back with my ex" so we stopped talking and that broke my heart and I started writing poems and in there I put "love" in there then about two weeks ago she randomly texted me and I had just gotten over her so I told her about everything and she read the poems and said that she thought it was "so adorable" that I loved her but im not her type but then we kept talking like we did before and she kept leading me on and she texted me yesterday saying shes talking to her ex again idk what to do because I honestly love her and shes the only girl that hasnt friend zoned me completely and she knows that can any girl or guy I guess help tell me what to do or give me advice its just I dont want to lose her:confused:

This is a tough one because as you already mentioned she was obviously leading you on and in some way just using you....but then again sometimes being used by someone who you really care about feels better (or less worse) than not having them in your life at all. I would just let her initiate any contact, if she wants to talk then thats ok, but try not to have any expectations and dont close your eyes and your heart to meeting other girls.
