PS4 or Xbox One Poll

Alright i honestly dont know what to get, and i just wanted to see what the vt community wants to see if it helps my decision a bit. I dont care if pcs are superior and no fanboying for the love of god

It depends on what you want honestly, I personally will get a PS4 next week. The Xbox One is more of an entertainment hub that can casually play games, so if you want to watch TV or Skype with people or access certain apps then the Xbox One is more for you. If you just want to play games you should most certainly go with the PS4. Price is also a big point, the PS4 is one hundred dollars less, but if you want motion controls for it then the playstation camera will cost sixty dollars so it will almost even out the prices. It is up to what you desire more, 1080p and Sony's prestige or a 720p overall entertainment hub.

Almost all of the specs are the same for both... The Xbox does cost more because they threw in the kinect. I usually decide what console im going to get depending on what my friends get... They both have really good exclusives which makes it a hard choice, like killzone and halo...both of them have the same fee for "gold" or pro membership... The one your friends play, is the one you should get...

IMO both consoles are the same. The only difference for me is that xbox & PS4 offer different exclusive games. i LOVE Forza, so i got xbox.

This is 2013, going on 2014, we need more than just a gaming system. We need a functional entertainment system with games as a part of it. If the PS4 delivered that it would be awesome. I like the look of killzone, but meh titanfall does it for me.

I'm gonna start out by saying that I'm not too particular about technology. I don't care. Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony... I could care less. I know that I'm getting an Xbox One because that's what all my friends are getting. It's not that I'm following the crowd to be cool and belong; I'm following the crowd to be with m friends.

I'm an xbox fan purely because the 360 at the time had party chat whereas PS3 did not. For the next gen or current gen as it is now I would still get the Xbox One, yeah PS4 is slightly more powerful and is branded a games console where as Xbone is a entertainment console, but XBone is built more for the future, it's the only one out of the 3 consoles that can run games in 4k, PS4 can play videos and pictures in 4K but not games, at the moment it's not that important with the prices of 4K TVs but in a year or two I don't wanna have to go out and buy a new PS4 just to play 4K games. On top of that XBone has Cloud Processing which makes the console even more powerful when connected online. If Microsoft put down the price of the XBone a lot more people would get it with what's to come in terms of games next year.

I currently have an xbox 360 and find it 'satisfactory' at best, I've never tried a Playstation (since the PS1) so I'm going to get the PS4 in January.

I prefer the PS4 for its free online gameplay, cheaper price, and great game selection (Halo is my only reason for ever choosing XBOX; other than that, the games I play are also available for Playstation).

All the games I want aren't exclusives, but it's a no-brainer. I don't know why this is still a question, but I guess since PC vs Mac is still a thing this logically would be as well. I'm biased on both those topics as my experience with Macs is primary school computer lab and my experience with Xboxes is one time when I was around the age of ten. My decisions still aren't blind loyalty though.

I would probably skip this gen if I hadn't skipped last gen and if KH3 wasn't coming out.

Well most games aren't really about the single player any more. However you do get games that do focus on the graphics. I mean games like the Uncharted Series, The Last of Us.

Basically there were games that focused on single player. However the shift and movement of online gameplay was a big thing that gen 7 focused on.

Very few. Either the Single player was good and nobody cared about the game Or the Single player Sucked but some how got 7-10 scores.

Gaming is now more focused on a social role now. Many games have a single player but it isn't the main focus. Games don't do well unless they either have a fantastic storyline such as the ones I mentioned above OR they have a crap storyline. It's now a days too much of a risk for developers to only put out a single player game because if it is crap then they loose a ton of money. At least with a multiplayer they have a chance of reviving the game a little.
