I started my period on the first of may 2012 and i my periods are extremely irregualr. They have been months apart and i have only had two periods in the space of two months. Is this normal? Should i be regular by now? Please help!

Some people never get regular periods. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, unless there are other severe issues like extreme pain, then you may want to get it checked out.

Completely normal. For some people, their menstrual cycle never regulates. For my mother, her period didn't regulate for years, until she was in her 20s if I remember correctly. And I've had my period for three years now and it's still not regular. For others, it regulates sooner, but not for everyone.

And you should only be having approximately one period per month...

The idea of having a period every month is strictly an American idea. If you're an athlete or for millions of other reasons, you may only get it once or twice a year, and that's perfectly fine.

Everyone's bodies get regular at different times, and it's normal for some people to be more irregular than others. Everyone's body is different!

If it's concerning, though, you can always speak with a doctor about it and see what he or she says. They may be able to tell you when to expect to be regular, what signs to look out for, or maybe even suggest birth control to help regulate yourself a bit.
