hey, sorry if this seems like "spam" or a useless topic, but i just felt like getting some things on my mind out there. We all know about the war on drugs, and how since the early 1930s we have been lied to again and again by our own government about the effects of certain narcotics. I mean has anyone ever seen reefer madness? perfect example of the government using fear tactics to get what they want, and in an incredible stupid way. Although i do agree that an ADDICTION to drugs is a negetive and that you should never allow a certain drug to take control of your life, there are many drugs classified by our government as extremely dangerous and harmful to us, yet are not addictive and do not put us in any danger at all as long as we use them wisely. For example Magic Mushrooms or Psilocybin Mushrooms which are not addictive and not toxic, yet the United States government classifies it as a substance for high potential for abuse. Doesent make much sence to me either. I find it completely insane that it is illegal for someone to have a deep inner experience and reflect on your life. ( people who have munched before will know what im talking about) Its the exact same thing with all the other hallucinogens such as LSD, peyote, DMT...and the list goes on. In a controled enviornment these drugs are less harmful to your body them most over the counter medications. Another rediculas law is Marijuana being illegal i mean...come on. For anyone who has ever smoked weed you'll know that you are no danger to society while high. Like you just want to chill out and relax. Doesent seem to dangerous to me however we are told again by the United States government that marijuana is a "gateway" drug and will most likely end with us addicted to heroin. Which seems a little extreme to me, i mean im an easy going guy who likes to smoke the occasional joint. does that really make me a criminal? Its really funny when you see that Marijuana is illegal while Alcohol and Tobacco remain legal despite the obvious fact (science proven) that those too substances are far far worse for your health. So why is the government doing this? are they trying to hard to protect us? HA! fat chance, like it or not but the government doesent give a shit about you. The reason these things are illegal is that the government cannot control them.(ie anyone can grow mushrooms or weed with basic material) So it pretty much comes down to money. Their illegal because they cant make a decent profit from them like they can with alcohol and tobacco. Even though more people die from liver disease lung cancer and other tobacco and alcohol related products then any other way. While noone has ever died from marijuana alone. I also accept the fact that some small problems can arise from these drugs, which is why it would be so much better for society if we were told the straight up truth about drugs and their effects so we are able to make an educated decision for ourselves. I mean im not a stupid person, i would never consume anything before doing some research on it first. Anyway, I hope you got through the whole thing, and at least if you dont agree with me as a whole understand where im coming from. Im also not promoting the use of any of the drugs which i stated earlier. I just simply believe people should be informed with correct information, thats all! discuss

i agree completely, the US drug laws are rediculous! They need to take care of what is seriously dangerous (Tobacco, Alcohol) and not the weaker stuff (Marijuana, Shrooms)

Well obviously the governments would also prefer to keep it illegal so there can be a huge money laundring hole, and I am pretty sure they are connected to the drug trade in some way, certainly not fully but its naive to think that they wouldn't want to get their hands on the worlds most profitable business :P

It's all about the money. The only reason these drugs are illegalized is to enable government organizations to perform forceful drug busts on foreign cartels, steal their cargo, sell the drugs to society under their own terms, then bust the buyers for extra profit on ticket costs, bail costs, and court charges. What happens when you're busted? The drugs are confiscated, resent to government organizations and redistributed in to society all over again.
How I found this out? Easy, friends that work for the government.
On the flip side, drugs would cost a hell of a lot more if they were legalized. Can you imagine the taxes?

That is just a theory, a plausible one... but if your 'friends at the government' knew this they would be under a secrecy oath or something. its not something that you would just tell your mates..

That's the thing, they are, my mother works for the Supreme Court, I have a lot of freinds in government. Haha. What really gets me giggling are the police officers that never report the confiscated drugs because they'd like to keep them. :P Can't tell you how much free stuff I've gotten.
Then again, back on the main topic. It's also likely that their information is inaccurate, and I've thought about it, but what I've been told just sounds too much like our government, not to believe.

To be honest, I believe this is what happens, but I do not believe that you know it. I think you are just coming up with a very weak way of 'proving' this to people. 'My mum told me' ... ok then.

why not? drug prohibition is a fairly new idea and has only existed for 2 generations. while they have been legal in most societys since the beginning of time. we just need some leaders that have half a brain.

I think the only reason why they won't legalize marijuana is because of cocaine you could easily hide a rock or put some powder inside of a some weed and roll it up and you there is no way in hell that cocaine is getting legalized. So how is the police suppose to distinguish between weed and cocaine. And also marijuana can cause a contact buzz to those around so it wouldn't be fair for someone to get high because johnny wants to smoke weed right beside him.
