Seems there's only two sides to this one, you either love them to bits, or hate them entirely.

I love them! Midnight memories is most definitely a step away from their bubblegum pop image, I think its amazing. While some others may disagree.

It's not like they're the worst. Like if I'm on a hit music station (which I'm rarely on) and 1D comes on, I won't turn it off like I would for some others like Niki Manaj which in my opinion is the worst of the worst.

I'm indifferent about One Direction.

I wouldn't say that I love them, because I think that they are vastly over-rated and I don't really fangirl over boy bands, but there a few of their songs that I really do like.

Ehhhh, they're not my favourite. I seen their movie though, because we were showing it at work and from that I did kind of get to like them a little bit more. They have some alright songs but the rest, I cannot stand. Plus, Harry Styles pisses me the fuck off.

I'm not crazy about them. And i probably won't buy a cd by them anytime soon nor posters on my wall.
But they made some songs that i really liked, and that i downloaded on my phone.

I disagree with your last comment (because you're classifying people who listen to that type of music as not having a good taste), but I agree with the fact that they aren't really that special of a band. In other words, I think that they're not amazing, but I don't think they're necessarily *bad*. They're just another typical boy band in the pop music sector.

I stay far away from them and most mainstream music today. They are shallow, have poorly written music, and are tailored for people in your (our?) age range. They are a corporate construction to make money. I don't hate them personally, but their music is pretty bad. If you haven't already, I suggest you branch out musically. Listen to some bands like Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues (core 7 only really), King Crimson, John Lennon, David Gilmour, Camel, Genesis (early), and more. Just cast into the musical pool and see what you pull out. :)

I don't hate them, but at the same time I don't understand the appeal of most boy bands. They usually don't play instruments and often do not even write their own music or lyrics. There's really nothing creative "musically" there.

I must admit that I was calling her the worst of the worst because I had heard "Stupid Hoe" (literally one of my most hated songs ever) on the radio no more than 2 minutes before posting that. I'm aware that she has some good songs.

I liked them until I found classic/hard rock, rap music, and indie.

They also ripped off Queen and The Who, so they're not really high on my list of favorite bands. I don't hate them, but they're not the best.

I'm on the side of 'I couldn't care less'. One Direction is a band that I would never choose to listen to, but I can respect them for writing music that has clearly affected an entire generation. That's evident by the fact we're even talking about them now.
