Just out of curiosity, how is the hierarchy of users and administrators organised? I was wondering because of the little avatar type stickers underneath everybody's names and while I have used the site in the past, I still don't really fully understand it. You're got your new users and your experienced users with thousands of posts, administrators and then global administrators: What are the roles of all of them?

The smilies don't represent any kind of hierarchy... It's just post count.

Administrators followed by Global Mods followed by Moderators.

That's the ''hierarchy'' each moderator moderates a section of the site and its sub-forums. Global Moderators are well global and the admins are the big kahunas.

The roles of them all are really the same make sure the members and the content of their posts adheres to the rules and keep the ''spirit'' or ''mission'' of VT going strong.

Administrators: Administrate the forum, run it, can moderate everywhere: Mike(ImCoolBeans) and Val (xXl0sth0peXx) are the admins here
Global Moderators: Moderate everywhere: Steven (StoppingTime) and Thomas (TheMatrix) are the Global mods here.
Moderators: Here they are split into two groups, Help and Advice and General Discussion. The Help and advice mods mod puberty and help and advice, and general disucussion the others. The H&A mods are: Derri (The Last of Us), Bo (Lost in the Echo) Sio (Kryptonite) and (Elysium) And the GD are: Ali (Emerald Dream) Rob(Purple Floyd) Adam(Red Velvet) and David (Cygnus David)

Retired admins are members who have been admins in the past.

Then you have the user ranks.

New
25
50
100
250
500
1000
2500
5000
10000
20000

All these do is show how many posts the user has, you have to have 100 to be able to PM members, and 250 to have your VM not moderated.

That is most of it

Any questions you can send me or a staff member a message

Retired Administrators are of course the overlords of any transcendent hierarchy there may be. :D

There isn't a user rank for 20000 posts. It stops at 10k, since I have over 23k and my "rank" is still the 10k one.

Incorrect - my powers are just the same as yours! However, I can see the staff calendar (I don't know whether it was changed so everyone could see it, though).

I can't see it anymore so I guess its just a little perk of being a retired admin?

I think its Ant that still has GMod powers actually...but then again he does own VT.

For 23k you should get a post face
that looks something like this:

I thought it was Josh who owned it. Isn't he the one who created it?

I thought it was Josh who owned it. Isn't he the one who created it?

Josh, along with Francis (Triple777), created it as a sub-site of GovTeen for teens with mental troubles, the Psych Ward was once the only subforum outside of VTHQ/Suggestions.

Anthony (Maverick) took over paying for the site at some point (I think 2009?) and as we are no longer affiliated with GovTeen, he owns the site.

I'm not sure where these rumors of all retired admins having gmod perks came from, but Ant did because he owned the site and was still doing maintenance on it. He does not still run the site, nor does he own it.

Then who does? I mean, of course I know who runs it, but who owns it?

Oh. Oops. Guess I've been inactive for too long lol. When was the ownership transferred/who owns it now?
