I remember this suggestion floating around when I was active on this forum a year or two ago, but it seems that it was never implemented.
Country or region (like Europe/USA/Oceania) sub-forums would be a great way for people of the same cultures to share thoughts with one another, especially since different cultures have different believes on topics relating to teenagers, eg marriage, sex and so forth. Furthermore, having sub-forums dedicated to these different regions would encourage people to congregate together and share experiences, such as concerts or events, that relate to the countries in question.
Just a bit of an idea that would be fantastic for the community.

I think the idea is for a global community, so that means we don't separate it into sections for countries

This forum is about the trials and tribulations of teenage. I don't think we need to divide it on the basis of geographical locations of the members.
Apart from that - religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation and several other aspects have greatly divided our world. I don't want to see that sort of contamination start here. I would really like to keep this place clean.
Good luck.

well, what if you are from all over the world and have experienced multiple cultures and cannot call one of them "my own culture"? what about people like that?

I agree with this, ethnicity and culture are very subjective. Another possible reason for country specific sub-forums would be language. I've seen quite a number of posts on here that look like they've been copied and pasted from Google Translate, and it's unfortunate that those who don't have a fantastic grasp of the English language can't use this site.

With the responses about the forum being a global community, I love multiculturalism, but there are some situations where input from those who belong to a certain cultural background would be infinitely helpful. It's all about perspective. The topic of sex and marriage might be viewed in a very different light to somebody living in a military occupied region of the Middle-East to my middle-class suburb in Sydney, Australia.
On the point of societal division, I don't believe that adding a sub-forum for people from different countries and regions would 'divide' us, if anything it allows people with common perspectives to come together and put issues into context within their communities. Just look at the other sub-forums on this site. There are some for cooking and food, others for technology and gaming and others for sports and fitness. All these house communities of different people who have been brought together because they share a common factor: All the different sub-forums create unity as it gives people the opportunity to unite for a common cause. Giving the people from the same countries, cultures and languages the opportunity to come together to share their own stories with others who share the same perspective on living allows unity, not division, within Virtual Teen.

The language used in this site is English, one common language is way better for all the users, just think about it, if we had regional forums then we would need regional mods and it would be very disorganized, this way it is more organized and people are actually more unified, you can talk to people in your region through VMs and PMs anyways.

Defiantly it would be fun to see people from your area on a website open to people around the world, but that's not the main purpose of VT. There are plenty of other websites that will do this.
Also you dont need a forum just to run into people from your area. There'a already social groups based on location, and you can punch your state/ city/ province into the search bar. I'm not sure, but I assume theres people on VT who know eachother in real life, because their friend told them about it, or may have coincidentally found them here.
