How come a guy family know more about you relationship than you?

How come a guy family know whether or not you're his real girlfriend or just his "trick" before you? Of course family members interact with you in person but maybe on social media also. If they stop speaking with you and only interact with you, when you mention leaving or going somewhere permantley, is that a sign your relationship is about done? What if they show no interest in meeting you no further like the last girlfriends? The guy and his family get along great but his family is acting like this towards my sister. he don't even recognize her on social media to other family members and his friends talk about her.
