Stepdad

So I recently moved to the Capitol of my Midwestern state to live with my mom. I love my mom and my sister. The problem is I can't stand my stepdad. I've gotten to the point where I want to hit him. I think he might be mildly handicapped, because he gets monthly welfare checks. However, he's also really freaking obese. All he ever does is scream like a child would. Now my sister thinks it's acceptable. I could go on and on about this. Staying somewhere else is not an option because of issues with the state of my real dads home. This is all really stressful and I don't want to cause violence.

Maybe you should try getting to know your stepdad. If he didn't do anything wrong to you then there is no reason to hate him. You can't just hate him because he's obese and he may be handicapped. Maybe if you get to know him more you'll like him.

I definitely agree then you should try to get to know him, especially since it seems he hasn't done much to be actively angry about. you could also try to talk to your mom about how you feel, she could talk to your stepdad about whatever he is doing to bother you, and you could make sure she doesn't mention to him that you said anything.

Maybe you should talk to your mom about your problem. She may understand and talk to him. After all, they are married, right?

Try and do father-son activities with him. Watch the football Sunday or something like that. Does ur mom know how u feel? If not tell her. She might mention it to ur step dad and he might nicer.
