Food Science

I'm not sure if this goes here.....but here I go

I go to an "agricultural science" (we work on the farm with animals and such) high school and I have agricultural science classes (land scape , Pre-vet, animal science, environmental science etc....) anyway I'm going to have Food Science soon and I want to know what it is....

Can anyone give me any type of idea as to what food science is??? All I know is that they make food (gross food)...:what:

Is it maybe like a sort of nutrition class? Learning about different foods and food groups, benefits of certain foods, what types of food to eat and how much, things like that?
