Hi guys ! I just want to know if it's normal to be a virgin at 16 ? Cause I've never had a girlfriend but I see a lot of people that lost their virginity at 14 ... I always think about that, it's making me crazy... :(

14 is a VERY early age to lose your virginity, and a lot of people wait till they are much older. :) It's something that's up to you though. If you choose to lose it while you're 16 then just have safe sex, if you don't then it's fine! There's no specific "Normal" age for sex. Although it does seem like people are having sex younger and younger now, it's not like you need to follow them~

I would like to add something: I think that your body knows when you're ready for "having" a girlfriend and it's better to save your virginity for someone who's worth it  :) — I'd not recommend to rush as I've never had anyone too..

It's normal, of course. You only lose your virginity when you want and feel prepared.

he is right there is no specific time a person should loose his virginity, I was 14 but I felt the time and girl was right, as long as you can look at the chance and say that you'll have no regrets that is when the time will be right for you.

Yes it`s normal. Losing virginity is a personal choice and you shouldn`t be rushed into it. Don`t do something just because someone else does that.

Never had a girlfriend until half a month over 17, lost my virginity 6 months later. Just relax, people lose it at different points. When you meet someone, it'll happen.

I'm 17, single, straight and a virgin. Proud of it too! :)
Here is how I look at it.
Anyone can have sex, but only a select few can be a virgin.. Its a status that once lost, can never be regained.
So don't feel bad man, its something to be proud of.
Hope this helps :)

It's interesting question.
Yes, it's "normal", you are normal also
Now, it's possible some of your friends are lying, they can say what they want but who know if it's true.
And finally, you don't have to have a girlfriend to lose your virginity neither.

There really isn't any ideal age for losing your virginity it's more about what circumstances you think are right for having sex and even then there is quite a difference of opinion between different people.
Some people seem to see virginity as a burden and actively seek someone for sex just to lose it, others may do it when they find they and the girl find each other mutually sexually attractive without necessarily being emotionally attractive, others wait until they are in love and some wait until marriage.
There isn't really a "right" way. I went for the "wait until you're in love". We're still in love and I love having sex with her. For me it is being in love that makes the physical special. Yes, the phyisical feelings of sex are very good and a bit different from masturbating, yes the orgasm can be fantastic but masturbating also feels good and I have had, and continue to have, some really intsense orgams doing that.

I'm 16 and still a virgin. I'm not embarrassed or jealous of others. I want to wait for that special person and time. I have a close friend that had sex with a girl at a party and afterwards he felt guilty and really low. He told me that it was a big mistake and he wishes he would have waited.

Yes. A large fraction, maybe over half, of us are still virgins at 16. I am on the verge of being 18 and I am still a virgin, I'm waiting for when I meet the right person, which will still be a while off (or maybe not idk :P ).

You should only loose your virginity when it feels right to you.....I felt ready because I saw a connection with the girl I was dating and we both felt it was the right step to take in our relationship

Statistically, yes. it's normal. The average age of having sex for the first time in North America is like 18/19.
My advice is to not rush things. Sex isn't something you want to just have happen. It's gotta be at the right time with the right person no matter the age.

I think it's normal. those people who say they lost it at 14...not quite sure what to make of it because i couldn't even think about actually having sex at 14, it's a big step... im 15 and im still a virgin, and won't be losing that status any time soon

honestly it's fine if you're virgin even at 25 or whatever, but i feel like the "older" virgins (that would want to lose virginity already) act seriously weird when they're talking about this topic, they and they only make it sound uncomfortable, for others that's not a big freaking deal, but they make a huge deal out of it.
I lost mine at 18 anyway, because I felt like, it's nobody else's business honestly, don't care about others

I'm 16 and a virgin. I have had and given oral sex, but never have had intercourse. I think 16 is too young to have sex because there are too many risks of pregnancy and if you're not old enough to care for a baby, then you're not old enough to have sex.

It's your virginity. You only loose it once. I'd say loose it when your ready and honestly want to, not just because all your friends are. For all anyone knows, they might respect you more because you haven't. I'm 19 and a virgin. I've had a few chances but I'm waiting until I get married personally. But to each his own.

In today's society, being a virgin at sixteen years old is something of a rarity. The answer to this question really depends on one's interpretation of "normal" and what standard this "normal" is being compared to. I think it is great that you are still a virgin. Personally, I feel that everyone should remain a virgin until they are married, unless of course your virginity is stolen from you, but that is another situation entirely.

honestly, society today doesn't allow for someone that's 14 to approach sex appropriately. Even thousands of years ago when 14 year olds were having sex, it was out of intention to raise a family and start of mature and differentiated life. Now sex is just a social standard. Kids have sex these days as a matter of acceptance and inclusion. You should just stand back, watch all your friends screw up their sex lives, and wait till you find someone you actually enjoy the company of, not just some chick that's hot in a way that really makes you hard.
Sorry to rant
