Do you think genetics influence weight and muscle?
I mean, either all the really skinny and relaly fat people that eat normaly are lying about how much they eat, or genetics have influence.
Like me, I consider mysef very very very lucky in genetics. (weight and muscle)
I never store much fat, and build muscle easily.

well generally the skinny types either have a fast motabilzim or eat very little or they are highly active the fat types either have a slower metabolic rate or eat way too much and or not very active or in some cases it might be glandular or causes by meds.as too genetics too many are too quick to blame it on genetic when the fact is they dont put much energy( i cant say effort) into their traing and nutrition programs

The outline of our body build is of course genetic but a major part of it is also environmental. Environmental meaning it all depends on how much you eat, how healthy you eat and how active you are.

Of course they do,
your muscle insertions can make you look 10x bigger than you are (high peaked biceps, high trap etc)
also your natural testosterone and oestrogen levels,
for me my test levels are very high - but unfortunately so are my oestrogen levels, so i hold a lot of water.
Also your thyroid hormone levels will affect your metabolism, unfortunately my thyroid is very under active and have to take medication for it.
So in a nutshell, yes - your genetics do have a huge impact on your physical properties.
High test - holds more muscle naturally, responds better to weight training
low test - smaller naturally, hard to build muscle
fast thyroid - doesn't carry much fat naturally
slow thyroid - carries more fat naturally
Obviously that is a massively over simplified answer

Both my parents are short and stocky. And my brother is short and skinny. Im 6'2 and 195 lbs, so it probably is with some people, but not all.

i think its both. i remember being taught that you have a max limit or minimum limit and where you go inside of that is up to you yourself
then there's the ones that aren't like anyone in their family, i guess thats what the punnett squares were for, lol
