Im worried that I might have IBS, i eat healthily most of the time. But i have to poo two times a day! I was chatting to some of my mates and they say they normally go once a day at the most, sometimes even once every two days! I rarely get constipation, but say every once in a while i might have diahrrea, mainly around "that time" of the month. Could it be anything to do with having anal sex as I have that about 3 times a week with my boyfriend? Sorry but while we are on the subject of "Poo" as well, do you think there is any link between the time you eat and time that you poo? say that you have a meal in the evening, do you find that you have to goin the morning when you get up? As i dont have an evening meal, only have lunch and breakfast and usually poo twice in the evening.
Any help would be much appreciated. thanks x

It's normal to have diarrhea around your time of the month, so don't worry about that. IBS isn't just about going frequently though, I believe there's typically a lot of discomfort too, hence the word Irritable. Do you get stomach cramps or bloating often? Is the process of "going" uncomfortable? If it doesn't present any problems I'd say it's totally normal and not to worry about it.

If it happens most of the time, talk to your doctor. Otherwise it's probably normal.

(IBS=Irritable Bowel Syndrome).

IBS is characterized by loose, bloody stools that are fairly uncontrollable. Doesn't sound like you.

My bet would be that the anal penetration is stimulating the urge to eliminate, so you're going more frequently. I'm not sure about the link between eating time and elimination time, I think it varies from person to person (although i'm sure there's a fairly typical amount of time it takes food to get thru you). Usually, you can regulate it a bit by eating lots of fiber rich foods and drinking a lot of H2O (which is actually the best laxative out there).

However, in your case, I'd bet it's the anal sex stimulating the urge to eliminate.
