My step Dad scheduled me to be circumcised. I'm really nervous. My doctor is doing it with me awake. He says I'll he will freeze it and I won't feel a thing. Has anyone had this done? Is it going to hurt really bad? Will I really not feel anything?

I've not had it done myself, but there have been threads here before, and the link at the end is a good one. Unless you have a medical condition, or really want it done, you really need to have a talk with your stepdad about it. It's not the sort of thing that's easily reversible once done. There's no right or wrong answer, as sometimes people do want it done. If it's a medical condition, have a word with your doctor beforehand

johnblogs - Thanks so much for that link. I learned a ton from that guys experience.
For those of you who asked why... its complicated. My step dad and I have less than a good relationship. He thinks foreskin is gross and has tried to have me circumcised since I was small. My mom always stopped it though. This time she isn't around to say no.
I'm not completely opposed to it. I have a best friend that is cut and he likes it. Hopefully it will heal ok.
I'm just scared as hell of needles and being awake and seeing it cut off. I hate blood. My doctor didn't really go into detail about what will happen. Said not to worry... but I'm super worried. Would love to hear if anyone else had this done and what happened.

Mate, I can not stress enough that this is a procedure that you shouldn't really do unless it is medically necessary. I don't know hat your step dads get up is, seeing as how it's not his penis and all, but you do what you feel is best. If you do not want the procedure, I strongly recommend you contact your local municipal authority (police) to stop it. I think it is wrong for him to force such a surgery on you if it is not medically necessary and not completely wanted.

I strongly think TapDancer is right. It is an operation that cannot be reversed, ever. If you have no medical issue and no philosophical constraint, you should absolutely not do it, and nobody should force you to do so.

You shouldn't do it if you don't want too. How can your stepdad think having a foreskin is gross? Is it for religious reasons? You should just tell him you don't want to, but if you don't have a choice, don't worry, you wont really feel a thing, and you don't have to look when the doctor is doing it.

if it's not for a medical need i agree you don't need it done. why is your step dad looking at your penis anyway? if he had a ugly looking finger would anyone make him cut it off?
i don't think a doctor should be able to do any surgery on you that's not required for a serious health concern.

Relax. Start off asking the negative people if they have experienced both ways. Chances are they have not and are just trying to scare you because they know they would never have the nerve to have it done. When I was 13 I asked my parents if I could get circumcised like my friends. They agreed and it was done. The surgery was not that bad at all. I was put to sleep and never felt a thing but I know others who were awake and said they never felt a thing after it was numb. There is no question that I like not having a foreskin. It is cleaner, looks better and feels great. My hardest part was getting the guts to ask my parents. Be glad you step dad is making that part easy for you. Be brave and look forward to it. If you are like me, you will have no regrets. Good luck.

Dude, your step dad sounds like a freaking weirdo. What business is it of his a) what your penis is like, or b) that you should start having things cut off it just to make him feel like it looks nicer?
Sorry dude but he sounds like a bit of a pedophile or something to me. I'd be telling him to shove it, he has absolutely no right to force this on you. And by the sounds of it, your mum will be really unhappy when she finds out about it. Don't do it, you will regret it for the rest of your life, long after your step dad doesn't even talk to you anymore.
And all the people saying it doesn't hurt are full of shit. You'll be in pain for about 2 months. If you get an erection at all (even in the middle of the night when sleeping), your stitches will come out and you'll be bleeding all over your bed. you have to put up with this for literally months. I can't stress enough that you'd be making a huge mistake unless you medically need to have it done. Which you don't.

I can't agree more with Luke91.
You asked about the operation and the answer is that is a very simple surgery (that's why it's done awake). Probably you are gonna to feel only 1 second the needle (to put the anesthesia) but you don't feel nothing right there (in your penis).
Now, about the other point. I agree that at your age you should agree with the surgery.

Why can't you simply say No? Where is your mother in all of this?
All you have to do is tell the doctor that you don't want to go through with it, and that your step father wants it done.
Why is your step father so concerned with your Penis & foreskin?
This seems very much like some sort of abuse.

As others have said above, it is not something that you should have done unless there is a medical problem and at your age you can't be forced to have a procedure that you do not want. I would recommend saying no to it as there are more detriments than benefits to circumcision. I got cut at 15 because my fore skin was too tight, there was an actual medical problem, but if there wasn't then I would never have gotten cut in a million years.

You don't have to be circumcised just because your step dad wants it done. He can't force you. That is abuse. Tell another adult in your family. Tell the doctor. He won’t do it if you say no.
A foreskin has a lot of pleasure nerves. When it’s cut off, the head gets less sensitive too. Do you really want that to happen? It’s not too late to say no if you want to. I hope that everything works out OK, whatever you decide to do.

I’m sorry to hear about your mom. Even though she is gone, there is still someone who can say no – you. In a few years you won't have to listen to him anymore. Will you even care about what he says then? Why is he forcing you to do it now, when you don’t want it? How would he make your life bad if you don’t get cut?
You can either give up, do nothing and get cut or stand up to him and say no. Whatever you decide, please let us know how it works out.

People who were circumcised at birth say they're happy with it because they don't know any different.
Despite what many people say, there is really no reason to get circumcised, unless it is for a medical problem, which you don't seem to have.
I know it isn't up to me, but if it were, I wouldn't go through with it.

Good luck as you have your circumcision tomorrow. You will do fine and you will do well. I have been where you are and it really was not that bad at all. The doctor will control the pain so you do not hurt. You will be so glad you had it done. Healing will go fast. It would be good to hear how it went once it is over. Do some research on the web - a lot of it. I'm cut and have always been happy I am. The only way to really know which way is better is to ask someone who was uncut, like you, and got cut in mid-teens or in adulthood. They've done studies and in almost every case, after the soreness has gone and your "best little friend" has healed and you've had 6 months or more to jack, have sex, and stuff, the men said they were glad they got cut. This is what I found.
You can't really listen to someone who only knows being one way. They are always prejudiced and will always want you to be like them because they are happy with what they have. Jacking with a foreskin tends to take a little longer than a cut guy, but the orgasm is more intense. Direct from research. Do your own research and see for yourself.
NOTE: It's critical that you tell the Doc you want to be cut loose, NOT tight. Being cut tight can make jacking a little painful. For instance, I'm cut loose and have extra skin on my shaft; when I jack dry, if I want, I can stroke so the skin comes up and half-covers my glans. Pretty cool. If I want to use lube, then I do.
If you get cut tight, I assure you you will be very unhappy. I've heard that some Jewish circumcisions can tend to be tight, to limit the amount of pleasure. I guess it depends on what type of Judaism you practice; the Orthodox Jews are more strict.
You'll be fine, but do a number of web searches & read-up.

Im not really all that sorry for that response, just hate seeing situations like this never end properly. If you wanted to be circumcised, so be it, have a good time with it. You said yourself that you didn't, you ALWAYS HAVE THE OPTION TO SAY NO TO BODY MODIFICATION. I cant stress that enough for anyone else reading this, your a lost cause mate. The only reason the doctor did the operation is because YOU said yes. I hope anyone in the same situation as you in the future will be able to stand up for themselves. Congratulation on going through with it! Now the healing begins. I went from strong pain pills to regular Tylenol in about 2 days. The first night I woke up when I got a boner and it was pulling on the stitches. Once I turned on the light and saw everything was OK, it was easy to go back to sleep. You will have less pain each day. The doctor took my stitches out in 1 week. Probably had something of a bandage for maybe 2 weeks. Again, congratulations and welcome to the cut world!

See how far you have come in one week. No pain pills means you are already healing. The bruised look is very normal. It will be clearing up very soon. The pulling on the stitches with an erection at night is also expected. It will feel better when the stitches are out. It really sounds like you are doing fine. I really doubt it will take months to where you think you look and act normal. After 2 weeks I think you will feel much better about your new cut penis. Hang in there and just look how far you have already come in one week.

I was cut at birth and really like the way it looks. It's a loose cut so I still have just a bit of skin when I jerk. So if it had to be done... then you might as well enjoy it. Just don't regret it as you can't go back now. I don't notice any difference when I j/o with my uncut buddies and we can't say whether cut or un cut is better. I think *in my opinion* it's probably the same feeling. Please let us all know on here, when you heal if you really notice the difference.
I am curious to know from guys who were cut in their teens if there really is a difference how it feels, cut vs. uncut. I'm sure we are all curious here on VT as there have been lots of posts, pro and con.

Since it has been asked, here's my $0.02US/$0.0186CDN by today's exchange rate. I try to stay out of these arguments and can only say that an uncut penis is not 'gross' as long as it is kept clean, and a circumcised one is not 'mutilated', and these extreme words are so often used by both sides (from what I see here). The fact is that when you first loosen your foreskin and expose the head it is mega mega sensitive and over time assuming that it is retractable and gets regular exposure and use, this mega becomes less. Yes, having a foreskin as built in lube is convenient and it is something that a circumcised guy can't experience. OTOH after circumcision there are competing advantages such as having the whole area around the corona etc totally 'open' and getting feeling from spots that were previously sort of covered up by foreskin.
I would think that being circumcised very tightly could be a problem, but living with a foreskin that only retracts partially is a nuisance. These are extreme cases that exist on both sides and so don't apply to most of us (cut or uncut) in the middle.

I think what you say makes sense. Sadly I think I was circumcised very tightly which was my step Dads direction to the doctor. He wanted me done like he was. I'll never understand in a world where we all look different people have a desire to make things look the same. Different is good!!!

I would agree, as my father was circumicised as an infant, and I did not suffer psychological distress because my foreskin was, in contrast, left intact. I am perfectly happy with my updated circumcised 'unit' but the whole dad-kid matching thing seems really odd, especially when it comes down to not only being circumcised, but circumcised in the same 'style'. In fact, I think that is the first time I have heard of that.

It depends on the doctor. Mine was done in his office under local anesthetic. Sometimes they ship you to the hospital and put you under.

Exactly the same situation here, cut dad and I was uncut (but since cut for medical reasons). The matching argument makes no sense to me either.

Only get circumcised if your having medical issues with your foreskin.

^this.
I strongly suggest you don't get circumsized if it's not strictly needed, as you lose quite a lot of sensitivity down there.

They guy HAS BEEN ALREADY circumsized so you should tell him something about his recovery not a non sense statemente that moreover is just an opinion, not a fact.

What's the final result? Still that tight when the swelling went away? Did they remove the frenulum as well? At least some inner foreskin left?

Hi Jake I can't really tell yet. Still swelled up\bruised and I keep it covered mostly. Stitches were removed though. I think my frenulum was a goner... taken off so I could be circumcised tightly. I haven't really taken a look. It looks ugly and I am waiting for it to heal more.

Good to hear you have a little humor. Must be feeling a little better about being cut. There are more good things to come.

You'll be back in action soon, but things will continue to improve over a period of
months, maybe a year.

Hey. It'll take about a month before you are back in action. It sucks but you survive. Hopefully your doctors were nice about it.

This shxt is crazy :oh: it ain't no way in hxll I would ever let this happen, how did you submit to this. @Purple_Haze I wish you well on moving past this, along with a speedy healing and hope you don't have too much soreness during your recovering process. Your step dad however he needs a axx whooping, any bad emotions you get for the rest of his life, take them out on him and give it to him hard.

Why were you circumcised Tim?
My foreskin was too tight and my parents decided to have it done, they were going to have it done when I was a baby but they didn't in the end.

update- I am mostly healed up now.... still seems weird to look done and not see my hoodie. Still getting used to having my purple helmet on display all the time.
Used lube for the first time yesterday. I think its always going to be necessary now which sucks. So messy and way less convenient.

They do say that :( Hopefully you fully recover soon! My cousin was circumcised at 14, and he did say that it takes some time to adjust to the loss of sensitivity while masturbating, but he still gets the job dont so dont worry too hard bro :)

But the sad thing is, the foreskin isn't supposed to retract until a good way through puberty. You were perfectly normal!

Usually if someone's going to get circumcised, they get it done right when they are born. Is there a specific reason you are getting circumcised? If not, you can try to convince your dad to not get you circumcised and cancel the appointment.

Whoa! It's only been two weeks - much to early to make that judgement.
Things are going to be changing for several months yet.

You are making great progress but don't rush things. You are probably still wanting to protect your new exposed head. With time you will figure out your best technique. For me I now take shorter strokes, work harder but enjoy it more. I never use lube.
