I think it's a little too early to say it doesn't have any health issues, but since I've started on mine I've felt cleaner, healthier and just all round better

E-cigs contain nicotine (which is a drug). While the amounts of nicotine in e-cigs are low, nicotine is a HIGHLY addictive substance. The smoke that comes from it is simply water vapor, so its not as harmful on the lungs. So while they don't pose a big health risk, they're meant as an alternative to cigarettes.

Electronic cigarettes are much better for your body than normal cigarettes, but they do still contain nicotine which can cause problems like increased blood pressure and heart rate. The vapor isn't really a problem at all, it's just water vapor.

I think you have to be careful and check the make and what it actually contains.

I do not think they are regulated or controlled in any way.

The only problems you could get is like high blood pressure because of the nicotine, I love mine though.

I think they're ok now, but people didn't know smoking regular cigarettes was bad in the beginning so maybe they'll discover something bad about them in 10 years.

The truth is that no-one knows if e-cigarettes are safer than cigarettes. The e-cig industry, which in some times is controlled by Big Tobacco (Lorillard, makers of Newports, own Blu e-cig, RJ Raynold and Philip Morris are working on/have launched e-cigs), just sells it as a safe cigarette. There's no proof of that, and they're not even FDA-approved as a quitting aid nor FDA-regulated... Same in the EU, but it looks they're trying to regulate them.
Just like Lucky Strikes were said to be healthier or Philip Morris were marketed as throat-safe cigarettes, e-cigs are just marketing.

IMO the worst effect of cigarettes is its addictive features, which obviously are also in nicotine-containing eLiquids.
I'm an ex-smoker since October 11th and believe me, nicotine cessation is the best thing I've ever done :)

No, as e-cigs are a relatively new thing there aren't any studies of the effects of long-term glycerin exposure but seriously, e-cigs were designed as a healthier alternative for current smokers and they definitely succeeded in that. If you smoke now, e-cigs are so much better for you. The inhalation of smoke alone, let alone the 69 cancer-causing chemicals, is terrible for you. The other ingredients of e-cigs (and I'm using my brand for this, but they're one of the most widespread) are water, nicotine, natural and artificial flavors, and citric acid. As opposed to this (http://www.tricountycessation.org/tobaccofacts/Cigarette-Ingredients.html). But if you don't already smoke, obviously e-cigs are not healthy as they've still got the nicotine.

If you have clean e-liquid from the US. Generally you are using straight nicotine. Nicotine in and of itself is not very dangerous though you may still get addicted (less likely than with cigarettes though.)

I'm lucky and my body tends to be able to use substances including nicotine without any sign of addiction and I use nicotine on a consistent basis in the nearly the same way I sometimes use caffeine, and that is to alleviate some social anxiety as well as keep me awake.
