I'm upgrading from Ubuntu 12.10 to Ubuntu 13.04 right now while I am at school. What should I do after the upgrade process is complete?

Downgrade, because Ubuntu 13.04 is a useless "upgrade". Wait until 14.04 comes out in April before you make an upgrade.

I agree, 13 is not as good in any way. Wait till 14.

Unless you're using unity, there's little reason for you to entertain the idea of installing 13.04.
