Tumblr

I just created a Tumblr account. I don't get it. What's the point? And I guess what's your opinion of it? I'm confused.

Im the same way as you. Created it, played around for a day or so, got bored and thought it was stupid, and never went back.

What's the point of any forum or blogging site? Tumblr has its own culture of sorts, its own sense of humor and jokes and that's only part of the site. It's also pretty well known for the liberality, equality, etc. and emotional support. I personally very much enjoy Tumblr and I think it's a great site for some people. There's a lot to be found on it, but even so, it doesn't appeal to everyone.

Tumblr is somewhat of a blogging site but way more. You can find other blogs in your interests and repost them. You can also put your own original ideas into it and share it across for others to share. It took me a while to get interested in it as well, but I am now.

Same with me, except then I discovered the tags of my fandoms and ships. At the beginning, I made one and abandoned it for months and I forget what specifically made me come back, but it's to do with my ships mainly. A whole community of people who feel as passionately as I do under one convenient tumblr tag. I think the main attraction is a ship that's so fucking perfect but the writers are really antagonistic against us even though we're literally the biggest ship in the fandom, even bigger than the canon ships. We're also highly hated by other ships, so it's nice to find refuge and friendship as well as so much lovely fan art and manips.

Mine is a fandom blog of course. I don't understand many other types of tumblr blogs other than photography ones.

I used to use tumblr a lot just to reblog stuff I liked, or would look good on my blog. Since they kind of tweaked the reblog feature I don't use it anymore. It is sort of pointless.
