Hey!

Me. I like a bit of indie rock from The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Weezer and Sonic Youth.
If we refer to indie pop, I like Lana del Rey.

If you like Indie pop, then you have to listen to Foster the people. They're amazing!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought Indie music was from bands/artists that are self-sufficient and aren't exactly in the charts or signed to an external party?

I don't listen to indie music that much, although I do appreciate it and listen from time to time. Bob Dylan is great. Does My Bloody Valentine count as Indie?

Indie has developed into an actual specific sound rather than the status of being independent. Don't worry, I don't answer these threads usually because my definition of indie is different from most people's. For instance, people will say Arcade Fire and I love them, but they're signed. I love a ton of the music that people consider indie, but I actually have so few true indie artists and they're usually associated with completely different genres.

Indeed! Indie/Alternative is my favorite type of music. I prefer the more "dancier" side of the genre though.

Some of my favorite bands (first few that come to mind): Two Door Cinema Club, The Wombats, Phoenix, The Neighborhood, Kids of 88, Smallpools, San Cisco, etc. etc.

That's only by definition, indie is really more of a genre now.

And what about Mumford and Sons, The Script, The 1975, Coldplay, even Hurts.
