Barren and ravaged;
Left were vivacious shadows
of lifeless bodies

I was reading about the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the aftermath and the few survivors, known as the Hibakusha. Shadows of some of the residents there were burnt onto the sides of walls and such because of the blast.
This is one of my first actual haiku's; it was a writing prompt my sister and I did where we were required to incorporate the word "left" in a haiku.
Bear with me if it's pretty shitty. I'm still trying to get acquainted with the form.
