Lately I've been thinking about why or why not we can have deep thoughts. It's hard to put into words but I'll give it a shot:

For me, some things I can only give answers that somewhat 'scratch the surface'. Other topics I can dig deeper and give, what some might call, philosophical answers to certain questions. I'm not aware of why I can't dig deeper on all subjects but I had and idea recently that maybe it's what I'm passionate about. Maybe if I like the topic or if I take part in whatever the topic is about, then I'll be able to give deep answers about said topic. It's the same when I'm browsing these Virtual Teen forums.

Let it not be said that the human mind isn't magnificent. Our brain is capable of so many things that we can't even begin to imagine. Ironic right? However, in my opinion, our brains aren't always adaptable to certain thoughts according to what mood we're in or what subject our brain is thinking about.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

I get deep when I'm depressed (giggity?). I never went any deeper than trying to find out how existence could possibly come to exist, but yeah sometimes I do have deep conversations with people who feel like having them.

People can think very deep when they want, it's the core of philosiphy.

I am sure we all have to ability to have deep thoughts. Some of us gain this ability faster than others. The rate at which we gain the ability to do so depends on factors such as level of curiosity and maturity. For me it didn't really come naturally. I learned over time by taking more advanced classes as I got older.
