I am a 15 year old guy in Texas- Houston area. I have been reading VT for about a month, & finally decided that is ok for me to start posting. You all seem to offer some pretty good advice.

My parents are older- almost 60. My dad jokes that I was a 'wonderful surprise' because they thought they were too old to have more kids. My brothers & sister are all over 30 years old. They give me good advice, but some things just need the opinion of someone else my age.

Ours is a family of physicians. Mom & Dad, plus 2 brothers & one sister are all medical doctors. One sister is a nurse practitioner. Most of our family discussions are about medical stuff, but I love college football, basketball, & baseball. I think that I probably want to be a pediatrician, like Dad. BUT- gotta keep those grades up!

Like many of you, I have both loved & hated puberty! Will these changes EVER be done? I love the new sexual feelings that have come with puberty, but hate the zits, insecurities, & embarrassing erections. My mom tells me to stop complaining- I could be experiencing her hot flashes with menopause.

Anyway, here I am. I like sports, I LOVE sailing & race in our local club. Sailing is like a tranquilizer for me: It takes me to a peaceful, calm, & wonderful place. It helps me appreciate everything in life that is beautiful.

Speaking of beautiful, my girlfriend is! We have been together for almost a year, She makes me smile.

Time for class- gotta go
