Hi,
I am a newbie, but I understand what many of u r saying. Sometimes it is so tempting to self harm- just to release some of the pain.
My older sister, she is the only one I can talk to about my urges, told me about something called 'scream therapy' that was popular in the 1980s. She said there is a song by Tears for Fears (80s) called "SHOUT" that is about this kind of therapy.
Pls Google Scream Therapy, but it is basically just finding a place to be alone, or putting your face into a pillow & just screaming at the top of your lungs, as long as you need to, & let the pain, anger, & depression out with your screams. It feels best when I am home alone, windows closed, & in my room. (Usually after school)
Yes, it sounds weird, but I have been trying it, & it makes me feel better. By the time I am done screaming, my throat is sore, I an exhausted & short of breath, & I don't feel the urge to self harm.
I hope it can be helpful for some of you.
