I think I found lumps in my throat and jaw, and I'm panicking, I skipped school today.
I don't know what to do, please help?
If I do have cancer, can someone explain what I have to do after I get diagnosed???
I don't know how to tell anyone.

You have to ask a doctor on what that is. Make an appointment with your mom to a physician.

I don't know how to bring it up.
The lumps have been there for a while, but I never thought it was anything bad, but now they are bigger and now there are more in my neck I think??
I don't know how to bring it up and I also hate the doctors! I'm scared and don't know what to do, I don't want to have to go through radiation therapy or anything!

Just go and ask her to look at it...don't even think just say "mom can you look at this" seriously like don't even think though. .. your mind is your worst enemy here, but I dont suspect wht you have to necessarily mean cancer regardless you have to go to tge doc

Tell her the problem...the earlier, the better.

We're not medically trained professionals so all we can really do is tell you to go get it checked, only then will you really know what is it. I do however, suggest that if you think it is cancer or anything serious like that you get help asap as it will get worse the longer you leave it and if you catch it in time you can do something about it. Just tell your mum you're really worried about what's happening and that you want to get checked out.

I say this is complete (tough) love.
Stop being such a ninny and tell your mom what
is wrong. She is your mom and she has been like
your nurse since you were born. It is not like you
are telling her you just robbed a bank.
See if were me, I would say, "mom I have bumps
in my throat". Then she would check it out and set
up an appointment, the same as she has for all my
other illnesses.

Don't make a self-diagnosis. It's good that you are quick to know that something's up, but go to a doctor to check that out.

Are you sure it's not just swollen lymph nodes?

If you're worried, just go see a doctor.

The thing is lymph nodes can be swollen
due to a number of viruses or infections.
I guess, I am just a 13 year old nerd after all :P

Don't stress yourself out over it being cancer, you'll only make it worse. Tell your mom you think something is up and you want to go to the doctor ASAP. Don't think too much about it and don't wait! The longer you wait the worse it will get.

My friend is in medical school and when I described it he said the same thing. The pic shows right where I feel the lumps.
Thank you guys so much, especially mrcharkteeth because that picture made me calm down a bit.
I have an immense fear of hospitals but you guys convinced me to go to the doctors.
I'll tell my mom when she gets home.

Don't self diagnose; lumps can mean a variety of things, they just happen to be most commonly associated with cancer (since that's one of the scariest possibilities). In reality, they can be completely benign. Have a doctor examine you.

A lump (or lumps) can be caused by many things, and in some cases they are cancerous or dangerous, and in many they are not. It could be a tumor, if it is it could be completely benign, it could by swollen lymph nodes, it could be a spider/insect bite, it could be an allergic reaction, it could be goiter, it could be an abscess, it could just be a fatty buildup.
Do you get my point? There are so many possibilities, and the only way to know for sure is to get them checked out by someone experienced (a physician).
You could always go into the doctor's because you say you aren't feeling well with your mom, and then tell them about the lumps and any other causes of worry, and they'll be happy to answer any questions.
Good luck :)

Thank you I've calmed down a bit since I've post this. It's just I'm terrified there will be something really wrong with me, and I also have a deathly fear of hospitals and surgery.
I honestly don't know if they are tumors anymore. They are probably lymph nodes and are swollen. I looked it up since I talked to my mom about it.
Still, it's scary knowing something's wrong with you :(

Have you had your tonsils removed? If not, are the lumps farther back, almost to where you could imagine the base of your tongue to be? Don't take my word for sure, but your tonsils could have started to swell. Are you having trouble swallowing, breathing, couching, etc?
