Guess who recently found out he is French?

My name is David and I am a freshman. I enjoy history and spend more time than not learning about it. I like to think of myself as a colorblind and I love learning about all cultures. After 6th grade I became very shy and it had a big impact on me. Today I am trying my hardest to break out of it for good. I hope to have a lot of fun on this site. Loving the fact that there is a history forum. :yeah:

Hello! Welcome to VT. I'm Hannah. When you say you recently found out you were french, what exactly do you mean? That someone just randomly told you, or you have a love for the culture and want to move there, or what? Also, you like to think of yourself as colorblind.. like you like to think you see colors differently than everyone else? You sound like a very interesting person and I look forward to talking with you some more :)

I found out I was French about a year ago. My dad had always been telling me I was but me and my mom thought he was just joking. Lately though after researching my name and my family history I discover that it is highly likely that I am indeed French.
By colorblind I mean't that I have not a racist bone in my body. When you say Arab I do not think of 9/11 or Al-Qaeda I think of Tariq Ibn Ziyad and the Library of Baghdad. I suppose all historians feel this way haha.

If you're going to be French, you might want to start out with the fact that it would be "bonjour mes amis," not "mon." Mon is singular, mes is plural. :D

Anyhow, welcome to VT! Hope you enjoy your stay.

I managed to fit so much of their music into my Galaxy that I can't even download Angry Birds :(

Still worth it...

Bonjour!! Bienvenue à VT!!

I speak french as well (fluently) and almost wrote this entire message in french, but then figured that people might not be able to understand it. I too am a fan of history, but probably not nearly as much as you. I just find it fascinating.

I look forward to seeing you around :)

Yes, there are some ambient ones as well. Most are epic, but I like them all.
