The pain is always there,
waiting to greet me with open arms.
Every night the hot tears stroke my face,
Every morn I feel the dried marks of the heart's lament.
As the long days of sorrow never seem to end,
Death seems like a long lost best friend.
You try and get closer to the friend,
who so graceously promises to take it all away.
Only to realize that this easy way,
Is corrupt and has bad side affects.
But when eventually you meet the road's end,
All you can do is hope a smile is there is to greet the old friend.
